According to reports, Dura Brake Company recently announced that it will invest $82 million to expand its plant in Clarksville, Tennessee, USA, and hire 94 additional employees locally.
Clarksville plant manager Tammy Francesckina stated: "This investment project will improve our manufacturing processes, expand our manufacturing business, and provide our customers with a more diverse product portfolio. This expansion plan will definitely have a positive impact on our customers and the local community."
The expansion project will be carried out in two phases, to be completed in the second quarters of 2013 and 2014. The first phase will involve the construction of an on-site warehouse and the installation of a dedicated furnace, while the second phase will add new equipment and machines, enabling the plant to process, electroplate, and assemble calipers.
This investment marks the second expansion project for Dura Brake at its Clarksville plant, which has been in operation since 1989. It was previously part of the Bosch Group in Germany and was sold to Dura Brake Company in 2009.
