On May 26, the first batch of units of the offshore wind power project in Rudong City, invested and constructed by the Hydropower New Energy Company of China Electric Power Construction Group, began grid-connected power generation. The Rudong offshore wind farm is located in the intertidal zone of Lingyang Beach in Rudong City, Jiangsu Province, with a total installed capacity of 100 MW, consisting of 10 wind turbines with a single capacity of 2 MW and 32 wind turbines with a single capacity of 2.5 MW. The project was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in December 2012, the first pile for the wind turbine foundation was completed on February 24, 2013, the first wind turbine was installed on November 18 of the same year, the substation of the wind farm was successfully energized on April 29, 2014, and the first batch of 10 units of 2 MW wind turbines began grid-connected power generation on May 25. The successful commissioning of this project marks a new breakthrough for the Electric Power Construction Group in the field of offshore wind power, establishing the brand image of "China Electric Power Construction" in offshore wind power, and has pioneering significance for further entering the offshore wind power market.
